King Mohammed VI has received a congratulatory message from the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, on Throne Day.
In this message, President Trump “personally” expresses his congratulations to the King on the 21st anniversary of the Sovereign’s accession to the Throne.
“During Your Majesty’s reign, Morocco and the United States have worked closely together to deepen the historic relationship between our two countries. We signed the only free trade agreement of the United States in Africa, fought side by side against the scourge of violent extremism, and multiplied the possibilities for a better cultural understanding between our peoples”, welcomed the American president.
Mr. Trump also took the opportunity to assert that the US-Moroccan friendship is rooted in “our shared belief in the promise of peace, stability and economic opportunity.”
In this regard, the US president says he greatly appreciates the king’s personal leadership in international efforts to promote religious tolerance and the fight against extremism.
“As you enter the third decade of Your reign, I look forward to continuing the fruitful work we have done together to create a more peaceful and prosperous African Continent,” writes Mr. Trump.
