Tunisian president invites The King to attend Arab summit

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita received on Thursday in Rabat, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji, emissary of Tunisian President Béji Caïd Essebsi, carrying a message to King Mohamed VI.

In a statement to the press, Bachtobji said he gave Bourita a message from the President of the Tunisian Republic, addressed to King Mohamed VI to attend the Arab League Summit scheduled for late March in Tunis.

He added that the talks with Bourita focused on bilateral relations distinguished and ways to strengthen them in the wake of the implementation of the decisions taken at the 19th session of the Moroccan-Tunisian High Joint Commission, held in June 2017.

“Several ideas, projects and initiatives from both sides are under way,” Bachtobji said, noting that bilateral relations, already centuries-old and strong, are promised a bright future and broader horizons, at the height of aspirations of both countries.

The Tunisian official also said that the next Arab Summit will be held against the backdrop of a number of issues and challenges facing Arab countries and peoples, noting that the main objective will be to start a fresh start for the Arab world joint action and to make this summit an appointment of Arab solidarity.
