UNAOC: Morocco will host the next World Forum in 2020

Morocco will welcome in 2020 the next World Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations (UNAOC), told us Sunday at the UN headquarters in New York, the High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations, Miguel Angel Moratinos.

Mr. Moratinos made this statement, after his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, in the presence of Ambassador Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UN.

“We discussed with Minister Nasser Bourita the excellent relations that Morocco has with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, a platform where we do not only discuss intercultural and interreligious dialogue but also prejudices, mediations, fight against terrorism (…),” added Moratinos.

“We had a very good news is that Morocco is ready to host the global forum of the Alliance of Civilizations for the year 2020, the last quarter,” says the High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations, stressing that this forum will make Morocco a meeting point for civilizations of the Arab, Islamic, Western, African and Latin American worlds.

“We will have a big summit in Morocco under the aegis of the United Nations on the Alliance of Civilizations,” he concluded.

It should be emphasized that this meeting between Moratinos and Bourita took place on the sidelines of the participation of the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the work of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
