UNCTAD: Tanger Med, the best connected African port

Tanger Med is the best connected African port in 2020 with 137 direct connections, says the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in a new note, entitled “Ports of the global liner shipping network: understand their location, connectivity and changes over time.”

And globally, Shanghai (China) is the best connected port in 2020 with 288 direct connections, followed by Busan in South Korea (274 direct connections), Antwerp in Belgium (268) and Rotterdam in the Netherlands (264). In South America, Cartagena in Colombia is the best connected port (130 direct connections).
