The FRMF has appointed the former coach of the Algerian team as the new coach of the Atlas Lions. He replaces Hervé Renard, who signed in Saudi Arabia.
Vahid Halilhodzic, who has reached an agreement to terminate his contract with the French first division club, Nantes, has agreed to the boss of the FRMF at a meeting held on Wednesday, according to our information. The new coach of Atlas Lions has set several conditions before accepting Morocco’s bid.
The former player and coach of Paris Saint Germain, will lead a second African country, after Algeria, he led for four years.
The national team is about to start qualifying for the African Cup of Nations 2021. The Lions are in Group E, which includes Mauritania, Central African Republic and Burundi. If Vahid’s first mission is to qualify the Lions for the AfCON, he will have to do as well as Hervé Renard by qualifying Morocco for the next World Cup.
