WAC-EST: The final will be replayed in early August in South Africa or Qatar

The final WAC-EST continues to fuel the controversy. While the CAS verdict is expected by July 30, media outlets have unveiled the ruling that will be handed down by the court.

According to media, the final will be replayed in early August in South Africa or Qatar.

Recall that the boss of the Reds and Whites will travel to Lausanne in Switzerland, Saturday, July 27, to attend two hearings at the CAS. They will have to give his version of the facts and defend the club bidaoui. The president of EST Hamdi Meddeb will also land in Switzerland and will be heard by the CAS.

Wydad of Casablanca (WAC) President Said Naciri announced that he has appealed to the International Football Federation and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over the “arbitration massacre” in the league final-return. African champions against Esperance Tunis (EST), played at the Olympic Stadium Radès (suburbs of Tunis). The Tunisians did the same and complained to the CAS.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided at the end of an emergency meeting of its executive committee in Paris, to replay the final.

Disputed at the Olympic Stadium Radès (suburbs of Tunis), this final had a chaotic end following the injustice which the referee of the meeting, the Gambian Bakary Gassama, was guilty. He had indeed refused to grant the equalizer of the WAC scored by Walid Karti in the 59th minute for a supposed offside without the possibility of resorting to the defective VAR to confirm its perfect regularity.
