The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), based in Geneva, will decide on Thursday, after the appeal filed by Wydad Casablanca (WAC) in the case of the final return of the Champions League 2018-2019 having opposed to the Esperance of Tunis (EST). The match was interrupted after WAC players called for a valid but canceled goal to be awarded after consulting the VAR.
The VAR not working, WAC players refused to resume the game. CAF president Ahmad Ahmad finally handed the trophy to the Tunisian team. The CAF had also voted a second time, considering the EST as the winner. In the event of an adverse CAS verdict, the WAC will have the opportunity to seize FIFA.
