WAC-EST: Tunisians refuse to replay final

The final of the Champions League between WAC and EST, which will be replayed, continues to fuel the controversy. Espérance Sportive de Tunis has just announced that the club refuses to play this final.

EST executive board member Walid Al Arem said that Taraji is refusing to replay the match.

And to add that the EST has earned the title and that the club will seize the CAS and FIFA to assert his rights.

Recall that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided after an emergency meeting of its executive committee in Paris, to replay the match between the Casablanca WAC and Esperance Tunis (EST) counting for the final return of the African Champions League.

The match will be replayed after the African Cup of Nations (AfCON) on a field outside Tunisia, told the press the advisor of the president of the CAF, Hédi Hamel, stating that the EST will return the Trophy and medals which were handed to him.

Disputed at the Olympic Stadium Radès (suburbs of Tunis), this final had a chaotic end following the injustice which the referee of the meeting, the Gambian Bakary Gassama, was guilty. He had indeed refused to grant the equalizer of WAC scored by Walid Karti in the 59th minute for a supposed offside without the possibility of resorting to the defective VAR to confirm its perfect regularity.
