WEF: Morocco 3rd in Africa, 1st in NA

In this year’s World Economic Forum (WEF) competitiveness report, Morocco is in 75th place, gaining 1.5 points from its previous score.

Note that, on the institutional front, which includes the performance of the public sector and corporate governance (on a panel of several criteria), Morocco is now in 75th place (77th in 2018).

And compared to its neighbors, the Kingdom is this year ranked third in Africa, behind Mauritius (52nd worldwide) and South Africa (60th) at the moment when the majority of its African neighbors occupy the last places in the table.

Morocco is also champion of the Maghreb, ahead of Tunisia (87th), Algeria (89th) and Mauritania (134th).
