Yazaki automaker to open new factory in Morocco

After creating three subsidiaries in Morocco, the Yazaki group is preparing to open a new factory in Kenitra. The installation of this fourth unit is scheduled for January 2020. A project that will be added to those located in Meknes, Tangier and Kenitra in particular.

According to Hiroshi Ichikawa, CEO of the automobile group, Yazaki plans to hire 2,500 people, in addition to 10,000 other employees in the group’s three other units in Morocco.

Hiroshi Ichikawa justifies the multiplication of units in Morocco by the geographical positioning of the Kingdom, close to Europe. “We have clients in Spain, and to get closer to them, we had to have a production base, and Morocco came up with a competitive offer with several incentives in addition to an industrial free zone for quality of the workforce, the political stability, all that convinced us”, estimates the boss of the Japanese group, which is delighted with the performances realized in Morocco. “Our business is doing very well in your country,” he says.
