22,542 arrests in Morocco for violation of emergency health measures

Security operations, carried out by the various DGSN services since the declaration of a state of health emergency to fight against the coronavirus, made it possible to arrest 22,542 individuals in flagrante delicto for violating the emergency measures laid down by the public authorities.

The DGSN indicated Friday, in a press release, that the qualitative analysis of the statistical indicators shows that the majority of the recorded facts materialize by the refusal to obey and the violation of the measures of the state of emergency, the non-application of the directives from public authorities, crowding, disobedience, inducing crowds and disobedience, non-compliance with restrictions on movement and movement without permission to leave the home.

With regard to the geographical distribution of these acts, the Casablanca police headquarters arrested 3611 individuals, those in Rabat 2950, those in Kénitra 2725, Oujda 2269, Marrakech 2122, Agadir 1883, Béni Mellal 766, Fès 762, Meknès 476, Settat 471, Tétouan 470, Laâyoune 313 and Tanger 280, the statement said.

The provincial security services of Salé arrested 1712 individuals, of Béni Mellal 766, of Ouarzazate 477, of El Jadida 413 and of Safi 162, while the regional security services of Errachidia arrested 392 people, of Taza 186 and from Al Hoceima 102.
