The opening of the World Congress of the International Federation of Journalists and Writers of Tourism (FIJET) will take place in a few days in Morocco. Organized under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, this meeting at its 65th World Congress will be held in Marrakesh, from November 29 to December 3, 2018.
Around 300 journalists representing various media from different countries around the world are expected to attend this grand event in Marrakesh, under the theme “Tourism and Culture – What report(s)? – What future(s)?”.
Activities, different and rich, are on the menu of this world congress. In addition to official programming, two major excursions are planned one in the imperial cities of Fez-Meknes and the other, in Ouarzazate in the South of Morocco.
This was announced at a press conference recently held in Casablanca by Tijani Haddad and Najib Senhaji, respectively presidents of the International Federation and the Moroccan Association of Journalists and Writers of Tourism (FIJET-AMJET).
For Tijani Haddad, who is also a former Tunisian Minister of Tourism, this initiative will have a positive impact on the destination of Morocco in general, and the ocher city, in particular, through the media contribution of the journalists participating in the congress, which will be used to to promote the potentialities of the Kingdom. The association had already organized in 2016 the meeting in Morocco of the Executive Bureau of the FIJET, which was followed by a press trip in the cities of Casablanca, Meknes, Marrakesh, El Jadida, Chefchaouen, Tangier and the return to Casablanca , with the participation of more than 120 journalists. “I believe this is a new challenge to succeed for both FIJET and AMJET,” said Tijani, who confirmed that every effort is made to ensure that the event achieves its primary goals and that the Federation international community to implement its commitments.
For his part, Najib Senhaji said that all measures have been taken to ensure the success of this World Congress in Morocco. “Having already organized the 51st FIJET congress, Morocco is chosen a second time to host its 65th congress thanks to the unique tourist attractions and the hotel infrastructures of Marrakech as well as the program planned for the congress participants”, confirmed Senhadji, president of AMJET-FIJET Morocco.
So if the choice of the Executive Board of the International Federation was focused on Morocco, it is because the application file presented by AMJET-FIJET has managed to highlight the hotel infrastructure offered by Morocco, legendary tourist attractions of Marrakesh and its region, as well as the rich and varied programming concocted for the delegates and guests of the great Atlas country. It is therefore a new challenge to succeed this great event and this is the reason why, since the announcement of the acceptance of the candidature of Morocco competed by several European countries, the office of AMJET-FIJET Morocco and all its members spared no effort for this great congress, a large-scale event that will be marked by the presence of leading personalities from the tourism and culture sectors at the global level.
