On the 21st of February, the 22nd edition of the 4L Trophy launches for a journey of 6,000 kilometers from Biarritz in France to the great South of Morocco. Expected arrival in Marrakesh on March 3rd.
It’s soon the departure. On February 21st, the 4L Trophy will embark on a journey of 6,000 kilometers without any notion of speed. From Biarritz in France, through Spain to the great Moroccan South with Marrakesh in sight. At the wheel, duets of young people aged 18 to 28 who have themselves found the funds for the trip and customize their Renault 4, the first model is, remember, it left the factory in August 1961.
The event is taken by storm every year by students who proudly wear the emblems of their universities and compete with ingenuity. Moreover, for this 22nd edition, a jury, chaired by Valérie Damidot, will designate the most beautiful model 2019 in the starting village in Biarritz. Among the 20 vehicles selected, the apprentices of a school of furniture in Liffol-le-Grand in the Vosges, completely revamped in wood version.
The principle sets aside the clock to offer a run at cruising speed. The ranking is based solely on the mileage traveled. On the program, 12 days immersion to discover Morocco, orientation tests to the foot of the dunes of the Sahara and a marathon stage of 48 hours in autonomy before returning to Marrakesh.

The pioneers of humor Lolywood, who were sponsors of the previous edition, decided this year to go further and take part in this 22nd edition. Finally, each participant in the rally is involved in the solidarity actions carried by the event. The 4L chests are packed with school supplies, medical and computer equipment, sports equipment, clothes, toys … for the benefit of some 20 local structures through the Desert Children’s Association dedicated to access to education.
In addition to donating material donations, these are also financial donations that allow to build primary schools (already 30 on the counter), day care centers, classrooms, facilities for disabled children, toilet blocks or even well. On average every year, about 30 tons of materials are brought in suitcases for the benefit of nearly 20,000 children in the Province of Errachidia.
