A fire breaks out in Mecca

Firefighters in the holy city of Mecca managed to control a huge fire in one of Jabal Omar’s towers. The spokesman of the Directorate General of Civil Defense, Nayef Sharif, announced that the incident occurred Sunday, February 17 at 11:40.

The fire broke out in prayer areas at the parking lot of one of the Jabal Omar hotel establishments, overlooking the Al-Haram mosque before spreading into the tower.

The incident fortunately did not make human victims but caused enormous damage in the establishment. Investigations are underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
