The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled a list of 56 referees who will have to do a training camp from April 28 to May 05 in Rabat ahead of the finals of the African Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt.
According to the CAF, 27 referees and 29 assistants will have to participate in an eight-day intensive training camp to determine the final list of referees who will be selected to officiate the final rounds of the AfCON 2019 scheduled in Alexandria, Cairo, Ismailia and Suez.
The referees in question will undergo medical and physical tests and will take theoretical and practical courses under the supervision of CAF lecturers and experts.
Judges will also be notified of the new rules amendments, which will come into effect on June 1, 2019 and will be applied during AfCON 2019, CAF added in a statement.
Three Moroccans are among the referees selected, namely Redouane Jayad and Noureddine Jaafari (central referees) and Hassan Azghao (assistant referee).
