AfCON 2019: Morocco could face Nigeria in a friendly match

The Nigerian Football Federation is in talks with Morocco for a friendly match before AfCON 2019.

According to Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, the Nigerian Football Federation is in talks with its Moroccan counterparts for the programming of a friendly match in preparation for AfCON 2019 in Egypt.

Recently interviewed by our colleagues about his wish to play the Atlas Lions in friendly, Rohr said: “There is a possibility that we play a friendly match against Morocco before the AfCON, but nothing still decided.”

“We really like to play against this good team from Morocco. But in March, it was not possible, because we already had a friendly match programmed with Egypt at home in Nigeria,” adds the coach of Nigeria.

The Atlas Lions have not been against the Super Eagles since AfCON 2004. A meeting of the AfCON group stage, which resulted in a 1-0 victory for the men of the Hervé Renard.
