King Mohammed has decided to devote a financial grant as a contribution from Morocco to the restoration and development of some spaces of the Al Aqsa Mosque and its environment, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
This contribution “is part of the sustained and continuous efforts that the Sovereign is constantly deploying at all levels for the benefit of the city of Al Quds Acharif, in support of the resistance of the Maqdessis and the defense of the historical status of this city and in consecration of its civilizational identity and religious symbolism as an open space of coexistence and tolerance between the different celestial religions”, indicates the Moroccan diplomacy.
Moroccan architects and craftsmen will be dispatched to preserve the centuries-old architectural authenticity of the mosque.
