Ambassador Mohamed Belaich appointed new AU Special Representative in Sudan

The Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, announced Thursday the appointment of Ambassador Mohamed Belaich of Morocco as the new Special Representative in Sudan.

A new Special Representative and Head of the Office of the African Union in the Central African Republic has also been appointed in the person of Angolan Ambassador Matias Bertino Matondo.

“The Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, is pleased to announce the appointment of Angolan Ambassador Matias Bertino Matondo as the new Special Representative and Head of the Office of the African Union in Central African Republic, replacing Mr. Bedializoun Nebié Moussa, who has been appointed to other functions, and Ambassador Mohamed Belaich, a Moroccan national, as the new Special Representative for Sudan,” said the announcement issued by the Commission on Thursday evening.
