American Airlines accepts RAM request for codeshare

Royal Air Maroc’s authorization request submitted last November to move from a interlining agreement to code sharing with American Airlines has been accepted. The latter has in fact announced that its customers can now book under code AA flights operated by RAM from December 25 between New York-JFK, Washington, Boston or Miami and Casablanca, with connections beyond to Marrakech.

“Other African cities will be added to the agreement” in early 2020, including Abidjan in Ivory Coast, Accra in Ghana, Lagos in Nigeria, Luanda in Angola or Monrovia in Liberia,” the American company said.

In exchange, Royal Air Maroc passengers can initially travel under AT code beyond New York-JFK to new destinations on the American domestic network such as Charlotte, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Raleigh- Durham or San Francisco.

Royal Air Maroc already has agreements in North America with JetBlue and WestJet.
