The Minister of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development, Bassima Hakkaoui, highlighted last Tuesday in Muscat (Sultanate of Oman), the achievements of Morocco in the empowerment of women politically, economically and socially.
Speaking on the occasion of the Seventh General Conference of the Arab Women’s Organization, Mrs. Hakkaoui underlined that the Kingdom undertook, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, in a process of empowerment of the and the realization of the principle of parity and equality through a set of programs and initiatives.
“Building on the fundamental values of democracy and human rights, Morocco has worked to implement measures to promote sustainable development by consolidating the principle of parity and equality and reducing gender disparities, “she said, pointing out that the public policies and reforms adopted by the Kingdom were implemented in accordance with the principles of participatory democracy.
In this context, the Minister recalled that the 2011 Constitution, based on equal rights and duties, has been a strong pillar of the Moroccan women’s empowerment policy by prohibiting all forms of discrimination and creating the Advisory Council for the Family and Children (CCFE).
