Bourita and Sergei Lavrov met at the 5th Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita met in Moscow on Tuesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the 5th Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum.

During this meeting, Bourita and Lavrov congratulated themselves on the excellent bilateral relations that have developed positively thanks to the agreement of the deep strategic partnership signed by the two countries during the historic visit of King Mohammed VI to Moscow in March 2016. The two ministers also discussed regional issues of common interest, including the situation in North Africa and the Arab world.

They also agreed on this occasion to set up a regular mechanism for diplomatic dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

This meeting is part of the dynamic relations between Morocco and Russia following Lavrov’s work visit to Rabat, from 24 to 25 January, and the audience granted by the Sovereign.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Moroccan Ambassador to Moscow Abdelkader Lecheheb.
