Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita met in Moscow on Tuesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the 5th Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum.
During this interview, Mr. Bourita and Lavrov praised the excellent bilateral relations, which are undergoing a positive evolution thanks to the agreement of the in-depth strategic partnership signed by the two countries during the visit of King Mohammed VI to Moscow in March 2016. The two ministers also discussed regional issues of common interest, including the situation in North Africa and the Arab world.
They also agreed on this occasion to set up a regular mechanism for diplomatic dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
This meeting comes within the framework of the dynamic relations between Morocco and Russia, following in particular the working visit made by Mr. Lavrov in Rabat, from January 24 to 25, and at the hearing granted by Sa Majesty the King. The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Moroccan Ambassador to Moscow Abdelkader Lecheheb.
