Bourita to meet David Hale US Secretary of State for Political Affairs

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita will visit the United States on Tuesday as part of an official visit, during which he will meet with US State Department Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale.

It is expected that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will hold high-level talks with the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale. They will discuss the Moroccan-US relations, ways of promoting them and a strong partnership between the two countries as well as exchanging views on issues of common concern, such as combating terrorism, security and the situation in the North African region, as well as the Sahara conflict, which will devote an important aspect to the dialogue and the political process despite the efforts of the United Nations to bring the views closer and revive the political process in accordance with UN Resolution No. 2440 of October.

It is not unlikely that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita will meet with other US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other US officials to discuss relations between the two countries.

The meeting between Nasser Bourita and David Hale comes a few days after the Security Council session on the Sahara conflict on Tuesday and the invitation of the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy Horst Kohler to hold bilateral preparatory meetings with the four interlocutors in preparation for a second round table in mid-March, who gathered Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel with the third man in the US State Department specialized in the file of the desert David Hale on January 29 last.
