Marching for the first time in Morocco, at the Casa Fashion Show to be held Saturday, April 20 at the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche, the French designer Aurélie Alezeraa unveils an exceptional dress in homage to King Mohammed VI. The designer who hides behind the brand ORZA Couture, thus signs an imposing dress of 21 kilos, decorated with pearls and embroidery on which one can read “Long life to his Majesty our King, Long life Morocco”.
“Being a stylist based in Paris, I wanted to pay tribute to my country of heart, the one that saw me born, while presenting the Moroccan artisanal know-how in France,” says Aurélie Alezeraa.
Centerpiece of the next fashion show of the Casa Fashion Show, this masterful creation called “Ball of butterflies”, shines thanks to its 247,000 glass beads. Entirely made by hand in its workshops in Casablanca, it represents for the stylist the extent of the know-how of Moroccan craftsmen.
“It is obviously not a dress that can be worn at an event is a unique piece dedicated to the parade. The dress and her corset weigh 21 kilos. It is covered with 1488 butterflies, each with nearly 166 genuine glass beads. It pays homage to Morocco thanks to its flamboyant red color in Calais lace, placed on an imposing crinoline of 2 meters in diameter”, specifies the stylist.
“Originally, it was Kenza Cheddadi, founder of the Casa Fashion Show, who offered me to present a creation in tribute to Morocco. I thought about what I could do and since September I have been devoting myself to imagining a unique dress that illustrates my love for this country and pays tribute to its majesty,” says the designer. “Kenza has created a space of expression for the brands and creators of the region, who can thanks to the Casa Fashion Show to assemble their collections and make discover their talent,” she adds.
For Aurélie Alezeraa, this creation also represents freedom. “We are lucky to be in a country where the woman is free, where we can march with dresses and contemporary outfits like in Europe. It is an open country in full evolution”, considers the founder of the brand which celebrates 10 years.
“I was born in Morocco, my family and my parents are still there, I need to return to Morocco to find my origins and my inspirations”.
Wearing a sparkling crown in the colors of the kingdom, the model poses in front of the lens of photographer Philippe Doignon, in emblematic places of Marrakech, such as the Namaskar Palace and Mansour Hotel.
The dress “Ball butterflies” will be presented Saturday, April 20 during the evening of the Casa Fashion Show alongside several claws and creators among the most cutting edge of the moment, which will scroll the flagship pieces of their collections Spring-Summer 2019, during the an evening supporting the Association of Good Works of the Heart, in the presence notably of Maitre Gims, Iris Mittenaere and Vitaa.
