Tottenham qualified for last-in-the-row Champions League squad despite losing against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium (4-3, 0-1)
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for the Citizens in the first moments of the match (4th). Tottenham’s reaction was quick. His Heung-min equalized (7th) before doubling the bet (10th). Bernardo Silva reset the counters a minute later.
However, Sterling managed to score his double and third goal for his team in the 30th minute of play. After the break, Sergio Aguero scored the fourth goal for Manchester City (59th).
While everyone thought that Man City would qualify, Liorente was able to reduce the stake in the 73rd minute of the game and thus offer qualification for the Spurs. The first leg ended in a 1-0 victory over Tottenham.
For his part, Liverpool quietly composted his ticket to the semifinals after defeating FC Porto on his lands (1-4). Barça who dominated Manchester and Ajax who created the surprise against Juventus, are also qualified.
