Competition Council consolidates cooperation with IFC

The Competition Council and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, signed on Wednesday in Rabat a partnership agreement aimed at the development of an institutional ecosystem supporting the effective implementation of the policy competition. The agreement thus enables the IFC to support the Moroccan institution in strengthening its institutional capacities through activities agreed upon by the parties.

Concretely, the emphasis will be on market knowledge, the effectiveness of the rule of law as well as the challenge of promoting the principle of economic responsibility of businesses, the state, territories and citizens. The agreement covers, among other things, the sharing of good practices in monitoring the negative effects of economic concentrations, the training of Council officials in investigation techniques and the preparation of reports in this area.
