After having found colors and life following the reopening of the Moroccan borders, Marrakech can boast of being in the top 3 of the most welcoming and warm cities in the world established by the famous magazine Condé Nast Traveler, in the category
During the 34th Reader’s Choice Awards survey conducted by Condé Nast Traveler, readers of the British magazine elected Marrakech the 3rd friendliest city in the world.
The criteria that have been evaluated are the welcome, the friendliness, the availability of the premises or the ease of exploring the city in order to determine its degree of conviviality.
“Morocco has always been a gateway; not only to the African continent but to the Arab world as a whole. Marrakech stands out as one of the most accessible cities, with a happy mix of tradition (spice markets, labyrinthine medina) and modernity (luxury hotels, Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech). While by no means a new destination, Marrakech has recently gained a reputation as a hub for the African diaspora art world – stop by the Museum of Contemporary African Art Al Maaden to sample some of the best,” the site said.
The ocher city, which welcomed millions of tourists each year before the pandemic, has repeatedly appeared in the most prestigious rankings as one of the best destinations to visit in the world.
Condé Nast Traveler also ranked Kralendijk, the capital of the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire, as the first friendliest city, in second place is the Mexican town of San Miguel de Allende. Bangkok, Lisbon, Dublin, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Singapore and Edinburgh complete the top 10.
