The closing session of the 24th UN International Climate Conference, initially scheduled for Friday, has been postponed until Saturday, in an attempt to reach a final agreement, said COP 24 President Michal Kurtyka.
The report aims to allow participants to overcome the differences, said Kurtyka, who did not exclude that the negotiations will continue until Sunday. Negotiators would not be able to conclude discussions on the content of the COP24 outcome document, because of differences that require discussion and additional time, he said.
A Polish source had the day before said that in the absence of a final agreement, the work of the 24th conference will extend during the weekend.
