Thirty-two Renault group employees tested positive for covid-19 following a screening campaign launched by SOMACA and local authorities.
“As part of a proactive approach to combat the spread of Covid-19, SOMACA and local authorities jointly launched a screening campaign, from May 19 to 21, 2020, targeting all of the staff present on site” , announces a press release from the group.
“The first wave of this operation was applied to 300 employees from different departments, including 32 people who were confirmed to be contaminated with covid-19 although they were asymptomatic, ruling out the hypothesis of contamination of the virus inside the factory”, explains the document.
“The General Management of the factory as well as the teams of the Ministry of Health and the local authorities have mobilized to support the employees tested positive and trace the contact cases in order to place them in the fortnight. The disinfection of the areas concerned was carried out the same day,” specifies the same source.
