Nine new confirmed cases of contamination with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) were recorded in Morocco, from the night of Sunday to Monday, March 16, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 37, announces the Ministry of Health.
These are cases of infection from abroad, with the exception of one suspected of having been infected by a person from abroad and tested positive for the virus, the ministry said in a statement.
The nine new cases were recorded in the cities of Meknes (1), Marrakech (2), Agadir (1), Fez (2), Rabat (2) and Casablanca (1), we add from the same source.
The new cases have been diagnosed by specialized medical staff, following the procedures in force for carrying out analyzes at the national laboratory for influenza and respiratory viruses under the authority of the National Institute of Hygiene in Rabat and the Pasteur Institute in Casablanca, notes the ministry, adding that all these cases have been treated in accordance with the sanitary measures in force.
The ministry invites citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health security and to adhere, in all responsibility and in a spirit of nationalism, to the preventive measures announced by the Moroccan authorities.
