As part of its epidemiological monitoring strategy, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced this Wednesday, December 15, to have recorded the first case confirmed positive for the new Omicron variant, in Casablanca.
In a statement, the department of Khalid Ait Taleb said this Omicron case was registered with a Moroccan woman in the city of Casablanca. She is currently under medical care at a hospital in the economic capital.
This person was thus taken care of, in accordance with the sanitary measures in force, underlined the Ministry of Health, which specifies that the state of health of the lady is stable, and is not worrying.
According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, all necessary measures are taken to accompany such a case, in accordance with national and international health security standards.
The ministry stressed that given the rapid spread of the new variant Omicron, all citizens must adhere to individual and collective preventive measures: the need to wear a mask and properly, frequent hand washing or sterilization with disinfectant alcohol, physical distancing as well as vaccination including the 3rd dose.
