Coronavirus: Morocco performs nearly 5000 tests per day

Despite an increase in cases of contamination of the coronavirus this weekend in the Kingdom, Morocco continues to deploy its efforts to fight the pandemic and continues to perform numerous tests a day.

According to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health, Morocco performs approximately 5000 PCR tests per day, in order to screen people with coronavirus. A record figure since the start of the pandemic in the Kingdom.

This figure can be explained by the increase in tests, both in laboratories and in professional environments where employees are screened.

Since March 1, Morocco has carried out 89857 screening tests, including 83087 in the laboratory.

Moroccan health authorities continue to detect the majority of new cases at an early stage of infection, even before patients develop symptoms, thanks to daily surveillance that targets all people who have been in contact with carriers of the Covid-19 virus.
