The body responsible for fatwa has decided to close the mosques in Morocco from Monday, March 16, until further notice.
“In response to the request for fatwa sent by Amir Al Mouminine to the superior council of the ulemas, the body in charge of fatwa recommends the closing of the mosques, as well for the five prayers of the day as that of Friday, as of this Monday March 16, corresponding to 21 rajab 1441 of the Hegira”, said a press release from the authority.
The measure is temporary, the document added, stressing that the mosques will reopen as soon as the competent authorities have decided that the situation is no longer serious.
