Coronavirus: Suspension of court hearings in Morocco

The hearings of the various courts of the Kingdom were suspended from Monday until further notice, announced the Ministry of Justice, the High Council of the Judicial Authority and the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

According to a joint press release, it was decided to suspend the hearings of all the courts of the Kingdom with the exception of those related to the cases of detainees, cases in summary proceedings and cases of investigation.

This decision is part of the preventive measures aimed at combating the spread of the new coronavirus “Covid-19” and for the protection of the health of the personnel of courts, magistrates, civil servants and auxiliaries, as well as litigants and users.

It intervenes in line with the measures announced by the executive in order to stem the epidemic, limit its spread and guarantee health security in the courts.

The press release noted that all the competent institutions and departments will ensure the rigorous application of the law, each within the limits of their competences.
