Covax: Morocco has received 650,400 doses of Astrazeneca

This is the third delivery of the Covax program which has delivered to Morocco more than 1.9 million doses to date.

Morocco has just received, this Wednesday, September 1, 650.400 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine as part of the international Covax initiative.

In a press release published on this occasion, the Minister of Health Khalid Ait Taleb welcomes “the receipt of this new batch of vaccines obtained within the framework of the COVAX initiative”, which is “essential to the maintenance and continuation of our vaccination program”.

To date, Morocco has received as part of the Covax program 1.910.400 doses:

– 1.608.000 AstraZeneca

– 302.400 Janssen

Quoted in the press release, Rami Scandar, national president of AstraZeneca for the Near East and Maghreb region, said: “The delivery of additional doses of AstraZeneca’s anti-Covid-19 vaccine to the Kingdom of Morocco is very positive news for the local population, and further consolidate our efforts to fight the pandemic. Morocco was one of the very first countries to receive this vaccine regionally and we are happy to once again demonstrate our commitment to its local population through this delivery.”
