The Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, organizes on 21 and 22 December 2018, in the city of Dakhla, “the first African Forum on Vocational Training”, under the theme “Governance of vocational training systems for employability and competitiveness in Africa”.
This forum, which will provide a platform for the exchange of expertise between participating countries, aims mainly to: emphasize the principles of participatory governance of vocational training systems for inclusive development; draw up a road map to establish a model of partnership between African countries in order to promote access to training, mobility and qualification of young people, particularly migrant populations; deepen the cooperation ties between Morocco and African countries, through the operationalization of the “African Alliance for the Development of Vocational Training”, created by 15 African countries as part of a multilateral framework convention, signed on April 18, 2017 in Meknes; explore new avenues for multilateral cooperation with other African countries and examine the possibility of their joining the “African Alliance for the Development of Vocational Training”.
Thus, it will be an opportunity to examine the issues and common challenges related to the governance of vocational training in Africa and its impact on the valuation of human capital. The debates will focus on the following areas: participatory governance and improving the performance of vocational training systems; training / employment adequacy: tools and approaches; vocational training: vector of integration of migrant populations and South-South complementarity; the key multilateral cooperation of vocational training at the continental level; and support for the development of professions facing the challenges of climate change in Africa.
