The largest Decathlon store in Morocco and Africa is opening at the Corniche Aïn Diab in Casablanca, the Decathlon group announced, which is rolling out its 17th store in the Kingdom.
The French sports and leisure retailer continues to expand its network in Morocco with the fourth store in Casablanca. Responding to the brand’s expansion strategy, Decathlon is consolidating its close relationship with its customers and continuing to make its products accessible in places with high traffic for its target audience. “This opening is once again the crowning of months of teamwork, and today I am proud of what we have accomplished. It is a question of offering our customers a memorable experience, with real innovations and new concepts that we will initiate in this store before extending them on the Moroccan territory”, affirmed Sanchez Borja, president and general manager of Decathlon Morocco.
“We imagined a Decathlon Store with international standards that has nothing to envy to department stores in Europe, it is also the largest store in Morocco and Africa. This is our way of saying thank you to the thousands of Moroccans who trust us by buying our brands, whether they are regular athletes or amateurs. It is our will to fight so that sport is accessible to everyone, everywhere and all the time, ”he added.
Covering nearly 3000 m², and with more than 60 sports activities, the largest store in Casablanca and Africa also includes a Decath’Club, a sports space where customers can practice group lessons, as well as a Pause Diet space, in which nutritious products are offered. It will also host a Shop-in-shop, an unprecedented innovation, which makes it possible to buy, in addition to Decathlon products, products from major sports brands. Thus, the customer will find what he is looking for with some 4,200 own references in addition to other brands.
As a reminder, Decathlon opened 1,698 stores in 61 countries. In Morocco, nearly 1,000 employees work passionately in the 16 stores. 96 sports practices are present there, more than 4,200 existing references, a local production site and a continental warehouse. Figures which bear witness to Decathlon’s desire to assert its presence in Morocco.
