The electronic money activity in Morocco totaled 376.9 million transactions, an increase of 11%, for a total sum of MAD 316.9 billion, up 10.6% compared to 2017, according to the electronic interbank Center (CMI).
These achievements of the electronic money business include cash withdrawals from the ATM network, merchant and eMerchant payment transactions, automated teller machine (ATM) payment transactions and Cash Advance transactions, by credit cards, Moroccan and foreign in Morocco, says the CMI in its report on the Moroccan money business.
The report thus shows that during the previous year, Moroccan cards recorded, in payments and withdrawals, 358.1 million transactions for an amount of 290.9 billion dirhams (+10.7% in number and +10.1% in amount).
