Employment: AfDB gives Morocco a new loan

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has today granted a loan of more than 900 million MAD ($ 96.6 million) to Morocco to finance access to employment. The loan agreement was signed by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mohamed Benchaaboun, and the resident representative of the AfDB in Morocco, Leila Farah Mokaddem, in the presence of the Minister of Labor and Occupational Integration, Mohamed Yatim.

The objective of contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of the population through an inclusive access to employment and skills development.

Thus, the agreement essentially aims to create 100,000 jobs per year, in addition to supporting 111,000 beneficiaries of skills training, including 50% of girls. Note that the agreement covers the period 2019-2021.
