The two partners reaffirmed their commitment to peace and security in the region.
The European Union (EU) praised Morocco’s role on the Libyan issue on Wednesday.
In a joint declaration following their meeting in Brussels, Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission and Nasser Bourita, Minister for Foreign Affairs, from African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad reaffirmed, in the face of growing regional challenges, in particular in Libya and the Sahel, “their commitment to peace and security in the region and expressed their willingness to continue their support to a political solution in particular in the Libyan crisis, on the basis of the Skhirat Political Agreement”.
The two officials also touched on recent developments in the Middle East peace process, the joint statement added.
