Bilal Hassani, a young Parisian of Moroccan descent, will represent France at the 64th Eurovision Song Contest in Tel-Aviv this month after winning Destination Eurovision with his song “King”.
With 200 points, the 19-year-old composer-songwriter was placed at the top of the France 2 music contest, facing seven other candidates, thanks to the votes of viewers, while he was only 5th in the standings from the vote of an international jury.
