All indications are that the 14th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM) could benefit this year from a royal inauguration. Especially since the King makes, since Monday, a visit in the area. Thus, the organizers of the show are mobilizing to succeed a beautiful edition whose main themes relate to “the employability of young people in the agricultural sector” and the “10 years of the Green Morocco Plan”.
A progress report will be prepared for the occasion. In the meantime, Aziz Akhannouch paid a visit yesterday to inquire about the final preparations for the largest agricultural showcase on the African continent. The Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Waters and Forests, was accompanied by including Tariq Sijilmassi, Mohamed Sadiki, Jaouad Chami, and Abdelghani Sebbar, respectively the chairman of the Board of SIAM and also chairman of the CAM group, SG of the Department of Agriculture, the Commissioner of SIAM, and Governor of Meknes.
Indeed, the new edition which is under the banner of “Agriculture, leverage and future of the rural world”, will host more than 1,500 exhibitors, including 300 international (62 countries). “We are also receiving some 22 foreign ministers and senior officials in charge of agriculture,” Akhannouch said. This meeting will allow them to exchange experiences and ideas, and discuss new perspectives for the development of the sector through young fellahs.
On site, an ant construction site is being conducted to refine the gigantic capitals of Sehrij Souani and Jnane Benhalima, places of SIAM and thematic conferences. “We have to speed up the pace. To set up a beautiful room for the price of the agricultural and rural press! “, Calls the minister.
“Do not worry, the yard is moving fast!” Says the SIAM commissioner. In fact, the show’s builders are working hard to develop a 20-hectare site, including 11 ha covered, to house 10 thematic clusters (including the organic pole, as the new born of the show) and accommodate a huge flow of farmers. As a reminder, one million visitors are expected at this 14th SIAM, scheduled from April 16th to 21st.
A week before the event, several hundred workers are mobilizing for the construction of the stands. This Tuesday, Akhannouch visited the regional, international, institutional, livestock, product … poles to explore the route that will be taken by the official delegation.
Showcase and spearhead of the Green Morocco Plan (PMV), the SIAM illustrates the royal attention paid to the agricultural sector. The latter is the essential economic link of the Kingdom. It is the actor of rural development, the guarantor of the social balance of the country and a guarantee of security for the future of future generations.
Through its role as a platform for exchanges, connections and exhibitions, the Salon de Meknes participates in the evolution and development of Moroccan agriculture. It is not fortuitous incident that the event is a craze for Moroccan and foreign exhibitors.
Thus, its 14th edition offers interesting perspectives with an intensified program of BtoB meetings, international conferences, and seminars specific to national sectors. Lastly, the SIAM has a retention rate of over 85%. In this respect, at the level of machinery, agricultural equipment (irrigation), products (fertilizers and fertilizers), operators achieve around 30% of their turnover during the event.
