German FESTO settles in Morocco

The German group Festo wants to accelerate its development in Morocco. The world leader in technical solutions for pneumatic and electrical automation, which already had several partner distributors in the Kingdom, has just taken the step by taking direct steps.

Also, this group which weighs more than 3 billion euros in turnover (nearly 35 billion dirhams) thanks to nearly 300,000 active customers in more than 35 different sectors, has just created Festo Morocco. Based in Casablanca, this new entity will have a purely commercial and marketing mission, particularly through targeted prospecting and the implementation of marketing and events to better push the panoply of products of the group. These range from electrical and pneumatic connectivity to compressed air conditioning solutions, through process automation, or advanced technical training (administered through the subsidiary Festo Didactic, which has around 60,000 establishments training institutions, universities, higher education institutions and industrial enterprises around the world as clients and partners).

It should be noted that these solutions are already partly distributed on the Moroccan market by distributors and the Sofimed group. But the Festo group plans to improve its penetration rate with Moroccan manufacturers, while the Industrial Acceleration Plan plans to raise substantially the industry’s share of the country’s GDP (from 14% in 2015 to 23% by 2020).

Festo Maroc is the second Maghreb entity of the eponymous group after that created in 2007 already in Tunis (Festo Maghreb).

Remember that despite its global size which employs more than 20,000 employees in sixty countries, the Festo group has remained, since its creation in 1925, a family entity with its seat in its historic stronghold Esslingen (a locality near Stuttgart in the South of Germany).
