Badr Hari is back in the ring. Injured during his last fight in December 2019 against Rico Verhoeven, the Moroccan kickboxer will sign his return on June 20, 2020 at the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena. According to Glory, Badr Hari’s opponent will be revealed on February 29, during Glory 75.
Recall that Rico Verhoeven clinched the heavyweight kickboxing world champion belt after Badr Hari’s retirement from injury in a very exciting fight on December 21, 2019 in Arnhem (northwest). The 35-year-old Moroccan champion contracted a left ankle injury in the third round which forced him to give up the fight after successfully knocking down his rival twice in the first two rounds.
A few hours after the fight, Badr Hari sent a long message to his fans to thank them for their support and give them news. “I want to thank my entire army for this incredible evening of combat. You were incredible. I cannot describe how I felt when I entered the ring in a crazy atmosphere. It was unique and I am very proud of your support,” he wrote on his social media.
And to add: “You can imagine how difficult it is for me to accept this result. I have shown the world that I am still the most dominant fighter in the heavyweight category. I am also confident that I will win this belt. I would also like to thank Rico Verhoeven for his sportsmanship after my injury. I will come back, be ready!”.
