Five deaths from H1N1 flu have been reported in public and private facilities, Health Minister Anas Doukkali said on Thursday, noting that most of the deaths were among vulnerable people.

In a statement, Doukkali said that the H1N1 flu is the dominant subtype this year, like all countries in the world, reassuring that the Ministry of Health “continues to ensure the epidemiological watch”.

A few hours earlier, at the press conference held at the end of the Governing Council, Mustapha El Khalfi, the spokesman for the government, had indicated, after the Council of Government, held on Thursday, that two H1N1 deaths have been recorded, including a 34-year-old pregnant woman in Casablanca and a 68-year-old woman in Fes.

El Khalfi added that the Ministry of Health has set up a vigilance system to monitor the epidemiological situation of this flu.
