The days seem numbered for Hakim Ziyech at Chelsea. The London club are said to be ready to allow the Moroccan international’s departure from FC Barcelona.
Hakim Ziyech could discover La Liga this winter. According to the Spanish press, Chelsea, who had previously refused to let their midfielder go, are currently in negotiations with FC Barcelona for the transfer of the 28-year-old midfielder during the winter transfer window.
The Spanish giant had already contacted the Blues in October expressing his interest in the former Ajax Amsterdam star on the recommendation of his new coach Xavi. Meanwhile, Atlas Lion is said to be ready to leave the Premier League to gain more playing time.
Since joining the Blues for € 45million from Ajax last year, the 28-year-old winger has struggled to find his best form. The Premier League club are said to consider paying part of the Moroccan’s transaction if they agree with the player.
The deal would be closed with a loan, pending whether a mandatory buyout option would be included in the deal. The Barcelona team also intensified conversations with Ziyech’s entourage.
Ziyech has enjoyed more playing time under Thomas Tuchel’s management lately. However, the German sees no certainty in the former Ajax player going forward, although he for now denies that the midfielder can leave and had recently expressed satisfaction with his performance.
