The Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech will host, from April 7 to 14, the 35th edition of the Hassan II tennis Grand Prix , at the initiative of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation (FRMT).
This world meeting of the little yellow ball is surpassed this year by hosting a plateau worthy of the biggest tournaments on the circuit, said the Federation in a statement, saying that the names of participants will be unveiled at a press conference scheduled March 28 in Marrakech.
With a prize of 560,000 euros, 90,000 euros to the winner, this tournament was placed under the direction of former Moroccan tennis champion Hicham Arazi, which brings him experience, credibility and wisdom, according to the same source.
For this edition, the Hassan II Grand Prix has set up two unmissable events, namely an exhibition match on April 6 in the Place Jamâa El Fna, just to put the public of Marrakech in the bath of the festivities, and the “Kids Day”, scheduled for April 10, an opportunity for the youngest to discover the courts, the atmosphere of the tournament and the backstage tennis.
In order to allow the greatest number to follow the tournament, access to the courts will be free for all, said the statement, noting that a village was built in the club to meet the needs of visitors.
This tournament revives with its city of birth, since the Grand Prix Hassan II of tennis took its marks in the ocher city 35 years ago before moving to Casablanca. He comes back to the sources as if to take root and become stronger, bigger, the Federation concludes.
