Hervé Renard: Morocco, in terms of infrastructure, is ready for CAN 2019

Cameroon will not organize the next CAN in 2019. Another country is to be designated by the end of the year. Morocco and South Africa are favorites to host the competition. Asked by BeIN Sports this Friday night, Atlas Lions coach Hervé Renard hopes that Morocco will be the host country.

“Morocco, in terms of infrastructure, is ready. After, there is still nothing to designate. It is not Morocco that has been designated. I hope that it will be even if it will add additional pressure, but the pressure we live with that. That’s what makes us progress”, said Renard, obviously pleased to have the opportunity to receive the competition.

According to a statement, the report of the CAF inspectors, who recently carried out a security inspection and infrastructure in Cameroon, was negative. The deteriorated security situation and the delay in the construction of the country’s infrastructure raise doubts about Cameroon’s ability to host the competition. The CAF has decided to simply withdraw the CAN 2019 organization in Cameroon.
