Hard blow for the Atlas Lions and Borussia Dortmund. Released in the 72nd minute on injury to Wolfsburg, on the sidelines of the 27th Bundesliga, Achraf Hakimi has to end his season.
Hit the metatarsal, the Moroccan international will undergo surgery in Madrid, announced Monday, April 1, the German club on twitter. “The 20-year-old should be away for up to 12 weeks,” says local media.
On his Instagram account, Hakimi came out of his silence, a few hours after this terrible announcement. “You are certainly aware of this bad news. I will focus today on my treatment to replay as soon as possible. Thank you all for your support and your messages of encouragement,” he wrote in a caption of a photo where he appears plastered but all smiles.
Several players from the national team and others immediately reacted to the publication of the Moroccan international. Tagnaouti, Mbarek Boussoufa, Aziz Bouheddouz, Faisal Fajr, Jawad El Yamiq, Mehdi Carcela, Achraf Lazaar and Rachid Allioui wished the young player a speedy recovery.
Considered a pillar of the national team, Achraf Hakimi could unfortunately miss CAN 2019 because of this injury.
Recall that the Lion of the Atlas left the field during the match against BVB Wolfsburg (1-0), just 25 minutes after entry.
