King Mohammed VI receives a call from King Salman

King Mohammed VI received a phone call from Saudi Arabia’s Salmane Ben Abdelaziz on Wednesday (March 20th), the Saudi press agency SPA reported.

During this meeting, the two Sovereigns spoke of “the depth of the sincere bonds of fraternity and the excellent relations based on the fruitful cooperation and solidarity between the two Kingdoms, as well as the determination to consolidate their relations in the various fields”, indicates the same source.

King Mohammed VI and King Salman also reviewed the evolution of regional and international events, the source said.

The Servant of the Holy Places has expressed to the King, his very warm and sincere congratulations for his country and his best wishes for further progress and prosperity to the Moroccan people.

Recently, the head of government Saad Eddine El Othmani received in audience the president of the Saudi Council of Shura (Consultative Assembly). It should be recalled that the reasons for the tensions between Morocco and certain Gulf countries concerned, among other things: the blockade imposed on Qatar, the Yemeni war, the refusal of Morocco to receive MBS and the reporting of the hostile Al-Arabiya channel to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

And on Al Jazeera, Bourita claimed that Morocco has an “exceptional and special” relationship with Saudi Arabia. He added that the Kingdom serves as an intermediary to help both parties find common ground. Nasser Bourita also recalled that “King Mohammed VI moved on the spot at the beginning of the conflict to promote dialogue between the two countries”, while affirming that Rabat always tries to bring the points of view to solve these problems.

Regarding the fact that Morocco did not receive the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Ben Salman, during his tour, Bourita was clear. “Official visits are prepared in advance according to the protocols. It is totaly normal”. With this official message from King Salman, Rabat and Riyadh are getting closer.
